Hi, I’m Shruti.
Artist, architect by training, and the person behind SD Doodles.
I’m a mandala and pattern artist based in Dubai, with roots in Chennai. My work is shaped by the things I naturally notice and return to — patterns, architecture, colour, culture, nature, ornament and the small details hidden in everyday life.
I trained as an architect, and I think that way of seeing has stayed with me. I’m drawn to structure, grids, proportion, repetition and the way many individual elements can come together to create something larger. Over time, that way of thinking found its way into my art.
SD Doodles began as a space to create and experiment, but it has gradually grown into my own visual language. My artworks often begin with a small idea, memory, place, motif or observation, and develop through layers of hand-drawn detail into something more intricate and narrative.
Today, SD Doodles brings together my original artworks, mandalas, pattern-led illustrations, books and creative resources, workshops, and selected collaborations. At the centre of all of it is the same curiosity: how can a collection of small details come together to tell a bigger story?
Selected Exhibitions & Milestones
2025 · DHAROHAR, The Nehru Centre, London
Exhibited Darbaar-e-Gul at The Nehru Centre, London, as part of an international showcase celebrating Indian art. Following the exhibition, received a letter of recognition from The Nehru Centre and a certificate from Indian Folk Art Corridor at the felicitation held at Dubai International Art Centre.

Featured in Spreads Magazine, highlighting Shruti Dugar and the evolving artistic practice of SD Doodles.
2025 · Billboard Residency — The Scala
Featured as part of the Billboard Residency at The Scala, presenting SD Doodles in a new public-facing format.
2024 · Soulful Strokes, Dubai
Exhibited Harmony in Diversity with Artezaar in Dubai, marking another step in presenting SD Doodles beyond the digital space and into physical exhibitions.
2023 · Indian Folk Art Corridor — 2024 Calendar
Artwork selected for the Indian Folk Art Corridor’s 2024 calendar, curated by Vidhisha Panday and featuring 12 Indian artists in the UAE working across folk and traditional art forms. The calendar was launched at the Consulate General of India in Dubai in December 2023.
Creative Education
Through SD Doodles, Shruti has taught mandala, pattern-making, colouring and digital art to hundreds of learners through workshops and creative sessions.
